What year levels are these maths practice tests for?
Years 7 through 10, plus Year 10A extension topics, following the Australian Curriculum. Pick any mix of topics in their year and the generator builds an exam of up to 20 questions with a worked solution for every question.
Is the practice exam generator free?
Yes. Enter your email to unlock it and you can make one free practice exam a day. The questions come from our topic pages, and each one was checked by an independent second solve. For more, the Tuterly app's Topic check writes a new test on any topic whenever they want one.
How much does it cost?
Tuterly is free to download. It's $8.99 a week or $29.99 a month at the launch price (from 1 April 2027, $17.99 a week or $59.99 a month), with a 7-day free trial on the monthly plan only. You can cancel any time.
Do these match what my child is doing at school?
Topics follow the Australian Curriculum (built on the Victorian Curriculum 2.0), so your child can pick the exact topic their class is on. They can also upload their actual school tests and practice papers, and the app writes fresh questions on the ones they got wrong.
How many practice tests should a student do before a maths test?
Two or three spread across the fortnight before beats a single session the night before. Spacing the practice out is what makes it stick, and marking each one properly matters more than doing more of them.
Will this help with senior maths (VCE, HSC and others)?
Indirectly, and importantly. Years 9 and 10 build the algebra, indices, trigonometry, statistics and financial maths that senior courses such as VCE Methods or HSC Advanced assume are second nature, so closing gaps now is the highest-value VCE preparation a Year 9 or 10 student can do.
